GENERAL.
This chapter provides operator maintenance information and includes lubrication, troubleshooting and general
maintenance procedures.
3-2.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS.
a. This section contains troubleshooting procedures for locating and correcting most of the malfunctions that
may develop in the water heaters. The common malfunctions that occur during operation or maintenance of the
heaters are listed in Table 3-1. Inspections, tests and corrective actions are presented for each malfunction.
They must be performed in the order listed.
b. Table 3-1 cannot list all malfunctions that may occur, all tests and inspections needed or corrective actions.
If a malfunction is not listed or is not corrected by the prescribed action, notify your supervisor.
