4-65 CAP AND STRAINER (FUEL)

Gasoline used in operating this heater is explosive.
Do not refuel during operation.
Avoid open frame near gas tank filler neck.
Keep cap on gas tank except during refueling.
Make sure a Class 20-B:C fire extinguisher is in easy reach.

Fuel cap
inspect fuel cap (1) and strainer (2) for

bends, loose parts, broken spot welds,
and damaged screen (3).

Inspect for secure attachment of chain
(4) to fuel cap (1) and strainer (2).
3. Fuel cap
Check gasket (5) for wear and damage.
Be sure vent (6), inside cap, is in the
open position.
NOTE
Close vent when fording water.

Fuel cap
Replace defective parts as required.

Fuel cap (1), gasket (5), chain (4),
and hook (7) (for fastening chain to strainer) come
as an assembly and are replaced together.
