a. Inspect all covers, panels, air duct hoses, handles, and the adapter, fuel tank cap vent, and exhaust
stack, for loose mounting, obstructions, or shipping damage.

Perform the preventive maintenance checks and services listed in table 21.

GENERAL OPERATING PROCEDURES.
a. To Start Engine.

Engage safety chain to louver to avoid serious injury whenever front
half hood is raised.
Release latch (1) and raise front half hood (2).
Install exhaust pipe (3), corrugated end up, over heat generator exhaust stack (4).
Move shutter handle (5) to open position (counterclockwise when facing front of heater unit).
Attach airduct hoses in desired configuration.
Gasoline used in operating this heater is explosive.
Do not refuel during operation.
Avoid open flame near gas tank filler neck.
Keep cap on gas tank except during refueling.
Make sure a Class 20-B:C fire extinguisher is in easy reach.
Remove fuel tank cap (6). Pump in gasoline until fuel gauge (7) reads F (full). Check cap vent
for open position.
