GENERAL.
a. This section contains troubleshooting information for locating and correcting most of the operating
troubles which are the responsibility of unit maintenance. Each malfunction for an individual compo-
nent, unit, or system is followed by a list of tests or inspections which will help you to determine prob-
able causes and corrective actions to take. You should perform the test/inspections and corrective
aotions in the order listed.
b. This manual cannot list all malfunctions that may occur, nor all tests or inspections and corrective
actions. If a malfunction is not listed, or is not corrected by listed corrective actions, notify your su-
pervisor.

Table 4-2 lists the common malfunctions which you may find during the operation or maintenance
of the heater or its components. You should perform the test/inspections and corrective actions
in the order listed.
NOTE
Before you use this table, be sure you have performed all applicable operat-
ing procedures.
Table 4-2. Unit Maintenance Troubleshooting
Engage safety chain to louver to avoid serious injury whenever front
half hood is raised.
NOTE
All procedural instructions assume that the front half hood is raised or both
the front half hood and bulkhead half hood have been removed if necessary
for access.
To raise front half hood(1), release latch (3), pivot half hood upward, and hook safety chain (4) on louver (5).
To remove entire hood assembly, release latch (3), remove bolts (6), and washers (7), and lift off trailer.
