MALFUNCTION
TEST OR INSPECTION
CORRECTIVE ACTION
1. Heater Fails to
Start.
Step 1. Has the green ON/ON-HOLD
light been lit for more than 3 minutes
but the heater has still not started?
System could be in post purge mode.
Allow up to 10 minutes before placing
the ON/OFF switch in the OFF
position and notify unit maintenance.
Step 2. Does the ON/ON-HOLD
advisory light come on momentarily but
shut down followed by the system fault
light flashing?
Count the number of times the
System Fault light flashes as well as
the number of audible tones heard.
Record the number of times the
system fault advisory light flashes and
refer to the troubleshooting
instructions later in this section for that
specific fault code.
Step 3. Check to make sure that the in-
tent controller cable is securely
connected to the in-tent controller and
to the control connector at the lower
housing.
Make sure that the in-tent controller
cable is securely connected to the
control connector located on the lower
housing.
Step 4. Remove fuses from battery
pack. Visually inspect the element
inside the fuse to ensure both fuses are
in good condition.
If the fuse(s) is/are bad or if in doubt,
replace bad fuse(s) with spare fuse(s)
located behind duct adapter at heater
inlet assembly.
Step 5. Is the battery pack connector
securely engaged in the connector on
the lower housing?
Make sure that the battery pack
connector is securely engaged in the
connector on the lower housing. Make
sure connector locks in place.
2. Heater smokes
continuously during
operation
Step 1. Check to make sure that vent
openings on front of combustion air inlet
cover are clear of snow or other
obstructions.
Clear combustion inlet area of snow
or any other obstructions.
Step 2. Check to make sure that
combustion exhaust pipe is clear of
snow or other obstructions.
Clear combustion exhaust pipe area
of snow or any other obstructions.
Step 3. Check that the correct fuel
being used for the outside temperature
where the heater is being operated.
Refer to WP 0001 00, Table 3.
Approved Fuels At Various
Temperatures. Verify that fuel being
used is appropriate for the
temperature in which the heater is
operating.
