MALFUNCTION

4. FLOODED HEATER
WARNING
Do not try to start a flooded heater with excessive amounts of fuel Inside.
Explosion may occur, resulting In injury or death to personnel.

Demount heater (refer to applicable vehicle technical manuals), and drain excess fuel
out of heater through exhaust pipe.
Install heater (refer to applicable vehicle technical manuals).
Remove guard (page 2-42).
Disconnect shut-off solenoid lead (6) from terminal 30 of overheat switch (7).
Turn heater on for thirty seconds.
Turn heater off, and wait for five seconds.
Repeat steps 5 and 6 for five to ten minutes or until heater starts.
If heater starts, let it run until fuel inside is burned up and heater shuts itself
off.
Reconnect lead 30 (6) to overheat switch (7).
Install guard (page 2-42).
If heater does not start, go to step 5, malfunction 1.
