Castings
Inspect castings (2 and 3) for evidence of cracking
or other damage. If either casting is damaged, replace
the coupling.

CAUTION
Pry castings carefully from behind flanges. Do not grasp splined area
with wrench.

ALIGNMENT
Remove setscrew (4) and pry casting (2) off crankshaft
(5). Remove setscrew (6) and pry casting (3) off fan
bearing (7). Retain keys (8 and 9).
NOTE
Install new coupling whenever engine is replaced or rebuilt.
Install castings (2 and 3) on crankshaft (5) and fan
bearing (7) using keys (8 and 9). Tap gently onto shaft
with rubber mallet or other nonmarring tool. Apply Loc-
tite to setscrew (4 and 6); install setscrews and
tighten.
NOTE
Install engine assembly as described in paragraph 4-21.
NOTE
Alignment procedures for engine drive coupling to fan and hub assembly
shaft alignment may be accomplished in conjunction with fuel system check
and fuel preservation removal.
