Do not operate heater in enclosed space. Adequate ventilation is re-
quired to prevent buildup of exhaust fumes which can be toxic in con-
centrated amounts.
Wear approved ear protection equipment within 25 feet (7.6 meters) of
operating heater. Failure to do so may result in impairment or loss of
hearing.
3. Bolts, knobs,
Start engine and check for unusual vibration or
clamp, coupling,
noise. Inspect bolts (5), knobs (6), and clamp (7)
and drive belt
for looseness. Visually inspect coupling (8) and
drive belt (9) for signs of fatigue or looseness.
4. Engine
Generally inspect for any needed maintenance.
TESTING
5. Engine
While engine is running, refer to table 4-2 and
observe for malfunctions.
Disconnect the ignition cable from the spark plug before performing
the following compression test.
6. Engine
With ignition cable (10) disconnected from spark
plug, spin flywheel counterclockwise against com-
pression stroke. A sharp rebound indicates satis-
factory compression.
