4-72 ADMINISTRATIVE STORAGE (45 days or less).
Administrative storage shall be in accordance with TM 740–90–1. It covers storage of equipment which can
be readied for mission performance within 24 hours. Before placing an item in administrative storage, the next
scheduled preventive maintenance checks and services should be performed, all known deficiencies cor-
rected, and all current modification work orders applied. The administrative storage site should provide re-
quired protection from the elements and allow access for visual inspection when applicable.
Gasoline used in operating this heater is explosive.
Avoid open flame near spilled or drained gasoline.
Always drain gasoline into container.
Make sure a Class 20-B:C fire extinguisher is in easy reach.
Dispose of waste gasoline in safe manner.
a. Drain fuel tank (1) by opening draincock (2).
b. Run engine to use residual fuel.
4-73 INTERMEDIATE STORAGE (46 to 180 days).
For intermediate storage no special handling is required other than protection from damage and the elements.

Drain fuel tank (1) and run engine to use residual fuel.

Drain engine oil by removing pipe plug (3).
c.
Remove spark plug (4). Lubricate cylinder with engine oil.
