REPLACEMENT
3. Guide reaming
Place pilot of counterbore reamer in guide (5). ln-
stall reamer guide bushing over counterbore reamer
and lower to rest in valve seat (2). Hold replacement
guide (6) on top of reamer guide bushing and make
a mark on the reamer guide bushing 1/16 inch
(1.58 mm) above top of replacement guide. Lubricate
counterbore reamer with kerosene (Appendix E, Item 6)
and ream out guide (5) until mark on counterbore
reamer is level with top of reamer guide bushing.

Replacement
Place replacement guide (6) in reamed–out hole and
guide instal-
press down with valve guide driver until replacement
Iation
guide is flush with top of hole. Lubricate finish
reamer with kerosene (Appendix E, Item 6) and
finish ream replacement guide (6).
NOTE
It is usually not necessary to replace factory installed brass guides. If re-
placement is required, DO NOT REMOVE ORIGINAL GUIDE. Follow
above procedure.
