Gasoline used in operating this heater is explosive. Make sure a
wheeled Class 20-B:C fire extinguisher is in easy reach.
Wear approved ear protection equipment within 25 feet (7.6 meters) of
operating heater. Failure to do so may result in impairment or loss of
hearing.
(3) Open engine preheater box (3), depress pushbutton on petcock (4).
NOTE
If unit has not been operated for an extended period, additional priming may
be necessary.
(4) Operate primer pump knob (5) about 6 times, or until fuel is present and wick in preheater box
(5) is damp. Release pushbutton on petcock (4).
Lighted gasoline can flair up and cause burns. Keep face away from
preheater box. Light at arms length. Use caution when closing pre-
heater lid, it will be extremely hot.
(5) Light wick in preheater box (3). Partially close preheater lid while flame preheats manifold. Let
burn for about 2 minutes.

hearing. Before starting engines, make sure burner control knob (3 in
figure below) is in STOP position. Failure to do so may result in prema-
ture ignition (explosion), creating a burn hazard.
(6) Wrap starter rope clockwise and pull repeatedly until engine starts.
(7) When engine starts, move lever (2) counterclockwise until engine runs smoothly at full open.
Close cover on preheater box (3), which will extinguish flame.
(8) Close and latch front half hood (1).
