Chapter 3 OPERATOR MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
Section I. LUBRICATION INSTRUCTIONS
The operator is not responsible for heater Iubrication. Refer to Chapter 4 for lubrication instructions.
Section Il. TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURES
a.
Table 3-1 lists the common malfunctions which you may find during the operation or maintenance
of the heater or its components. You should perform the tests/inspections and corrective actions
in the order listed.
b. This manual cannot list all malfunctions that may occur, nor ail tests or inspections and corrective
actions. if a malfunction is not listed or is not corrected by listed corrective actions, notify your super-
visor.
c.
Any trouble or corrective action beyond the scope of operator maintenance shall be reported to unit
maintenance.
Table 3-1. Operator/Crew Troubleshooting
Engage safety chain to louver to avoid serious injury whenever front
half hood is raised.
NOTE
All procedural instructions assume that the front half hood is raised or both
the front half hood and bulkhead half hood have been removed if necessary
for access.
To raise front half hood(1), release latch (3), pivot half hood upward, and hook safety chain (4) on louver (5).
To remove entire hood assembly, release latch (3), remove bolts (6), and washers (7), and lift off trailer.
