AIR FLOW SYSTEM
Stewart-Warner and 10560C24, 10560G
BLOWER MOTOR-Turns the blower wheels to provide air to the heater. During the start cycle it runs at a
reduced speed. This results in a richer fuel/air mixture that lights easier.
VENTILATION BLOWER WHEEL-Forces air through the heater, around the heat exchanger, and out to the
vehicle ductwork.
COMBUSTION BLOWER WHEEL-Takes a portion of the air forced into the heater by the ventilation blower
wheel and forces it into the combustion chamber.
COMBUSTION CHAMBER-Area where fuel, air flow, and ignition systems come together and burning oc-
curs. Hot gases are forced into the heat exchanger.
HEAT EXCHANGER-Provides a large surface area for heat transfer to take place between combustion gases
and ventilation air. The hot gases are forced out the exhaust port and piped out of the vehi-
cle.
