Igniter
Inspect for fouling and burned electrode (7). Electrode
must be flush with end face (8) of igniter tube (9). H
badly fouled or burned, discard.
TESTING
Do not operate heater in enclosed space. Adequate ventilation is re-
quired to prevent buildup of exhaust fumes which can be toxic in con-
centrated amounts.
Wear approved ear protection equipment within 25 feet (7.6 meters) of
operating heater. Failure to do so may result in impairment or loss of
hearing.
Shock or injury may result from working on electrical components.
Take care to ground parts and not make personal contact.
Do not have fuel flowing to combustor during following test, Be sure
burner control knob is all the way up.

Igniter
When attaching high tension cable to igniter, tighten manually
turn nut only about 1/4 additional turn. Avoid overtightening.
Attach high tension cable (2) to igniter (3). Start engine.
Ground igniter to heater and observe for spark. if no
spark or spark is weak, replace igniter.
Assembly Operation Test Procedure
