Loosen setscrew (1) and
remove casting (2).
Loosen setscrew (3) and
remove pulley (4) and key
(5). Retain parts for
reassembly.
Remove screws (6), washers
(7 and 8), and nuts (9).
Separate fan ring (10) and
bracket (11) and lift out
fan bearing (12) with
attached support (13) and
hub (14).
Fan bearing (12) is press fitted to support (1 3),
and hub (14) is heatshrunk onto shaft (15) of
the fan bearing. Check for sign that either fan
bearing or hub has slipped and may be coming
loose. If defect appears, forward to direct sup
port maintenance for replacement.
Rotate shaft (15) and note noise, wear, and ex
cessive end play. If defective, forward to direct
support maintenance for replacement.
